About IELTS 

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP, and Cambridge English, and was established in 1989. IELTS is recognized as one of the major English-language tests worldwide. 

Test Modules 

IELTS offers two modules: 

1. Academic: Designed for those planning to study at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. 

1. General Training: Suitable for immigration purposes or work-related training. 

Key Features of IELTS 

• Listening: Assess your ability to understand spoken English. 
• Reading: Evaluate your comprehension skills through various question types. 
• Writing: Measure your ability to express yourself in written English. 
• Speaking: Conducted in a one-to-one interview format, assessing your spoken English. 

The total test time is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. 

IELTS Listening 

• Common for both Academic and General Training. 
• Listen to 4 recordings and answer 40 questions based on them. 
• Course Objective: Develop the ability to comprehend main ideas, detailed information, opinions, and attitudes of speakers. 

IELTS Reading 

• Consists of three reading passages. 

• Question types include multiple-choice, matching, sentence completion, and more. 
• Course Objective: 

• Understand main ideas, supporting details, and implied meanings. 
• Locate specific information and make inferences. 
• Improve reading speed and comprehension skills. 

IELTS Writing 

• Academic Version (Task 1): Describe visual information (graphs, charts, diagrams). 
• Academic Version (Task 2): Write an essay in response to a question or statement. 
• General Training Version (Task 1): Write a letter based on a given situation. 
• General Training Version (Task 2): Write an essay on a general topic. 
• Course Objective: Present information logically and coherently.
